MSU All-Girl

You may have read some of my posts about Michigan State University All-Girl and how amazing it is to be on the team and to learn all the college level stunts and just having fun with my crazy teammates; this page is different. This page will tell you about how MSU All-Girl works.

I thought this would be a good thing to have because I really had no idea how it worked when I tried out the first time, and I ended up having to quit.

MSU All-Girl is a competitive team. There’s no cheering on the sideline. The team goes to several competitions a year including NCA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Fla.

MSU All-Girl is a club team. The team wears green and white and represents MSU at competitions, but it is not financially supported by the university. Each participant pays $2,000 (maybe more now) for the season; if you quit or are removed from the team there are no refunds. There are several opportunities to fund-raise and team members may get sponsors to cover part or all of the cost.

For the 2012-2013 season the fees covered warm-ups, uniforms (cheerleading and STUNT), bows, shoes, choreography, music, registration for all competitions, hotel stays, busing/flights, coaches fees, and coaches travel. So pretty much everything except food and souvenirs.

In addition to paying its own way, the team is also self-run. There is a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer who are all elected by the team.

2012-2013 was the first time MSU All-Girl competed in STUNT and the team ended the season 2-1 with a final ranking of ninth out of 19 schools. The team will continue to compete in STUNT during the 2013-2014 season.
